About River Road Press.

River Road Press LLC was founded in 2014 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our mission is to publish local and regional authors, with a focus on history, children's books, and Southern culture – but we are certainly interested in all genres of writing.

River Road Press is a boutique publisher, committed to publishing the highest quality books, encouraging collaboration and artistic partnership with its authors, illustrators, photographers, and artists.  As a boutique publisher, we look for titles that appeal to niche markets and seek out authors and illustrators that have the enthusiasm and passion to promote their work as hard as we do.

River Road Publishing is a full-service company. We assume responsibility from manuscript to finished book, including manuscript review, editing, proofreading, typesetting and formatting, design and illustration, paper print and binding, shipping, warehousing, publicity and distribution, etc.   Our team also assists authors and illustrators with conducting successful interviews and how to get the most out of book signings.

We make certain that our books are available at every appropriate outlet, including major and independent book stores, Barnes and Noble, gift shops, museums, libraries, on amazon, and through distributors.  Most books are also made available in all major digital formats.

We have strong relationships with the media and signing venues across the country, and will provide press kits including review copies to prospective print, video, digital and radio outlets. Our team will schedule signings and author appearances in conjunction with the media coverage. This two-pronged approach maximizes an author’s exposure and sales opportunities.

River Road Press has a team of experienced professionals in all aspects of the publishing process to ensure that our author’s books can reach the most readers possible.

Scott Campbell, Publisher

Scott Campbell opened River Road Press LLC in 2014 after working for almost a decade at Pelican Publishing Company as the head of sales for the Mid-South region. Mr. Campbell was responsible for sales and author events in nine states including the all-important state of Louisiana. During his time at Pelican Publishing, Scott sold millions of dollars of books, worked with hundreds of authors and scheduled thousands of author signings. He also worked with major accounts, including Barnes and Noble, who he visited at their headquarters in New York, to pitch the entire season to each respective buyer. He also participated in many book fairs, festivals, and conventions.

Prior to working at Pelican, Campbell co-owned a successful event production company.  He also worked in Marketing, Public Relations, and Development.

Campbell brings all of his experience to bear with the creation of his own publishing company, River Road Press, and his own ideas of what a publishing company should be. It is a vision based on a spirit of collaboration, transparency and mutual respect.

“I want to help authors realize their vision for the book, not my vision of what I think their book should be. The publisher should be as excited about promoting and selling as its author. One of the advantages of being a small house is that we can give each author and title the attention that they need to become as successful as they can be. Publishing should be fun and rewarding for everyone concerned.”

Marci Schramm, Co-Publisher

A twenty year career in opera was excellent preparation for publishing.   As a marketing and public relations director for opera companies across the country, Schramm wrote and edited hundreds of program books, press releases, marketing copy, company communications, and more.    Later serving as Executive Director New Orleans Opera, she managed staff, created budgets and oversaw day-to-day financial operations, created new partnerships, worked with major sponsors, and produced major events.  Most recently, Schramm served nine years as Executive Director of French Quarter Festivals, Inc. (the largest free music festival in the United States), where she personally received many awards and honors for her work and community service.  Schramm co-founded River Road Press with Publisher Scott Campbell in 2014.
